Why I Miss 90s Witches and 2010s Vampires (and the New Books Bringing Them Back)
Because what’s more comforting than a little witchcraft, economic chaos, and a hot vampire with control issues?

Hi witches,
The retro vibes are back and I’m not just talking low-rise jeans (who thought this was a good idea?). The paranormal alpha hero is clawing his way out of the 2010s coffin, and I’m obsessed.
Over on the blog, I rounded up My Top 5 90s Witches where I reminisce about the women who raised me in rebellion, and questionable spellcraft and pairing each with a book that captures their energy. We’re talking The Craft, Buffy, and a heavy dose of moody nostalgia.
Then I went full fangirl in 5 Vampire Romance Books Bringing Back the 2010s Paranormal Vibe. Think brooding heroes, blood oaths, and “I’d burn the world for you” energy. These aren’t your sparkly vampires. They’re dangerous, delicious, and very much recession-era coded. I explained my thesis on the rise of the paranormal alpha in this YouTube video. Let me know what you think! Hit reply and let’s chat, or leave me a comment over on YouTube.
So if your soul’s been craving that mix of danger, angst, and supernatural escapism, this is your sign to queue up a rewatch of Practical Magic, pour something red, and grab a book with bite. For me, it’s watching Interview with the Vampire (the AMC show). I’ll be sure to share my full thoughts on the podcast soon.
